General Information
Name: Alex Hart
Age: 16
School Year: Second
Gender: Female
Ability/Power: Able to manipulate light and sound waves. Also has cat ears.
Appearance
Hair: Long, black, shiny. Has bangs. She wears a bow on top of her head.
Eye Color: Orangish-yellowish
Height: 5'5
Clothing: Usually wears a white crop top with a black shirt partly over it. Wears black cloth on her arms, more on her left than her right. Has really long sock-like things that fade from black to purple, black closer to her waist and the purple at the bottom. Those go over white shorts, and she wears boots with some heel. During school, she wears an uniform.
Personality
Likes: Alex LOVES to sing, and she will often perform in front of others. She also loves lights; if you walk into her room, there are Christmas lights hanging EVERYWHERE. In her free time, she is usually with her friends, listening to music, or performing in front of a crowd (it's almost always packed).
Dislikes: Snobby people, darkness (but it doesn't stay for too long), and not being able to sleep.
Strengths: Miss Hart is extremely good at singing and dancing. She is also good at track, and is on the team.
Weaknesses: The girl with black hair is not good around boys, and while it may appear that she is fine, on the inside she is all wibbly and wobbly. It is also hard for Alex to talk without stuttering a couple of times, but she never seems to when she sings. She also has a problem with her hand twitching.
Worst Fears: Miss Hart has a very strong fear of the dark, which is one of the reasons she is so grateful for her power. Surprisingly enough, she also has stage fright, but instead of ignoring it, she chooses to conquer it. She has also been afraid of being kidnapped ever since she started singing in front of strangers.
Personalities: Alex is smart, but not quite a straight A student. She often gets a mix of B's and A's on her report card, but she doesn't mind, she is more passionate about singing than grades. The sixteen-year-old is also very hard-working, and if she is told to do something you can count on her to do it (if she agrees with it). Being a person that likes to be by herself, she will spend most of her time not at school in her room or alone at the park.
History
Family: Her mother's name is Elise, her father's name is John, and her brother's name is Joe.
Pets: Alex owns a flying squirrel that is very well trained.
Past: Alex grew up being a middle-class family, and never really knew what it was like to have everything she wanted. While her parents were paying off college debts, all she had to wear was hand-me-downs from her neighbor. During elementary and middle school, she had a group of friends, but she never really felt that she belonged. When the summer before ninth grade came around, her dad's college degree and debts paid off. Her dad made the newest advance in technology, and was soon a multi-millionaire. Mrs. Hart, Alex's mom, quickly insisted on moving to Castle Street, and soon they lived in a giant house. Alex quickly got to decorating her room, filling it with Christmas lights and old-fashioned furniture. One of her favorite objects in her big room was a record player, which she had lots of records to go along with. Day after day, she would find herself singing along with it and dancing mindlessly with the music.
One day in the middle of August (after an expensive vacation), Alex caught herself stopping singing and staring at her Christmas lights. She was pretty sure that when she was dancing, the light spread for the bulbs and started to dance with her. No, she wasn't pretty sure, she was positive. Unless, she thought, I had something funky to eat earlier. Alex moved on, not quite forgetting about what had happened, but trying to ignore it, until she found the same thing happening to her the next day. After turning off her music, she flung her arms in silly motions, trying to pull the light to her. She felt really stupid, and before she really started, she made sure her door was closed. Then she tried again, and the light came to her and spread around her. An idea popped into her head, and she tried to make the color of the light change to light purple. IT WORKED!! She kept practicing and practicing, getting better and better. Eventually, she made another discovery. If she focused, she could make the music become louder quieter, and even spread around her, without trying. She started writing her own lyrics and creating a tune to them. Then she would practice putting her voice into different sound levels, and would spread light around her. The first time she looked on the video that she had filmed of herself, she looked and sounded marvelous.
But when ninth grade started, everything changed. She was surrounded with people, because her dad's discovery had made her popular. Soon she went into the wrong crowd, and she started smoking and drinking alcohol. December came around, and Elise, her mother, begged Alex to sing carols for the Christmas party her family was hosting. She couldn't refuse, and found herself being drawn to the music while she was singing. It was a drug of it's own, and she was hooked. Not caring, Alex surrounded herself in light while she was singing to everybody. Not an eye left her, and people clapped loudly when she was finished. Right away, she quit drinking and smoking, and returned to singing. At first she didn't have any friends, but soon got a good group of four that was better than any friends she had ever had.
Her dad, being rich, got her a good band, and she started to perform in front of crowds. Soon she had lots of fans that were transfixed by her ability.
RolePlay Sample
RP Sample: Alex turned on her Christmas lights as soon as she walked into her room. In one swift motion, she filled up all of the dark cracks with light. Now that she was famous, she mostly spent time at her friends' house or in her room. She had started to get a gang of paparazzi, and she was NOT enjoying it. If only she could meet a single person at school that didn't know about her, she would be happy. But for now, she was stuck with her homework. Algebra was easy, it was one of her best subjects, History was easy too, it just was very time consuming, but Science made things a little more complicated. Moving to her computer, she signed into her online tutor website, where she could get help without cheating. Her favorite tutor explained it to her, and then Alex got it and was able to move on. Finally, she finished her homework, and scooted on her rolling chair to her record player. She put on her most listened to record, and got lost in the beat, let light swirl around her.
Around dinnertime, she was disrupted by a knock on her door. Her mom was there, and exclaimed that it was time for dinner. This surprised Alex; she didn't know she had been listening for that long. On her way out of her room, she grabbed her phone and realized she had four missed text messages. It was a good thing none were important, because she wouldn't have found out until then. Once she had finished dinner and helped clean up, Alex went back to her room and fell onto her comfortable bed. She could not express how happy and sad at the same time that she wasn't performing that night. While she loved doing it, she hated the crowds, who were there mainly for her lights, not her music. Exhausted from staying up late the night before, she quickly fell asleep, not setting an alarm for school the next day.
