It was 21:30 and William was sat patiently on a semi-decomposing tree trunk, checking his watch at short intervals. He'd never liked being late for things; he decided to arrive 30 minutes early so he was definitely on time. There were rumors of a ferocious Jabberwocky lurking in these woods so he wandered why Sakurai Kairi had wanted to meet here. It was well know that the woods weren't safe... These types of things had never really scared him so he wasn't really bothered. Precariously getting to his feet, Will started pacing back and forth searching for something to do; he was never any good at waiting, maybe he should have come a bit later...
The wind was excessively strong this night; the sky a velvety star spangled sheet encasing the the Earth. 'Holy crap, it's cold' he thought zipping his jumper up and wrapping his 'technicoloured dream scarf' 'round his neck. The wind started to pick up as dark cumulonimbus clouds rolled across the sky. 'This looks great...' Will retorted to himself sarcastically. Finally giving up on the quest to find something to take his mind off the cold, he paced his way back to his trunk and returned to his seated position, legs curled under his arms. Checking his watch for the final time, it read 21:50. Sigh 'Only 10 more minutes', he thought...

Kairi walked cautiously through the Park, jumping every time the wind picked up. She had spent the last twenty or so minutes convincing her mother and twin brother that she was heading to the library to return a book, for she knew they would never have allowed her to meet up with someone in such a dangerous place as Tulgey Woods Park. Behind her, Sky scampered along, unfazed by the looming trees overhead. He'd always been fearless. The path underneath was smoothly paved, and didn't seem affected by the roots that grew underneath. I wonder how old this path is? Kairi wondered, looking ahead to see how long the path ran. It seemed endless. How far did Will go? Finally, a dark figure came into view. Is that Will? Picking up her pace, the forest seemed to brighten around her. It had bee a while since they'd had some time by themselves. "Will!" She called, waving her hand. Sky broke into a run to keep up with her. Kairi slowed her pace as she neared the stump where he sat. She hadn't the slightest idea as to why she was so excited.
Sitting down beside the boy, Kairi slid her hands into her jacket pockets. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to wear grey at night, she thought, suddenly fearing for her safety. Sky leaped up beside her and curled up in her lap, obviously bothered by the dropping temperature. She shivered slightly. Two jackets would've been a better idea. Winter was finally nearing it's end, and Kairi was more than happy to welcome the arrival of Spring; it was her favorite season. After catching her breath, she turned to William. "How've you been?" She asked, stroking her pet's back as she did so.

He looked up to see two ominous figures, one on four legs, in the horizon progressing towards. Maybe they're going to kill me? Meh, there's lots of weird things around this area so he just pushed the idea aside. "It's probably just some odd shaped shadows" he thought placing his head in his lap. Footsteps. They were getting closer.Very close. "Will!", he heard, piercing the silence. Breathing right next to him. This was fo' rizzles. Something sat down next to him... I'm going to die, he whispered slowly, before sighing; What a drag . "How've you been?" Will turned to look at 'who' was talking to him. With a sigh of relief, he just sat there, stared and blinked for a minute. It was Kairi ( and Sky of course ). Did she ask to meet me here to kill me? Don't be stupid... That's not it... William continued to stare ( not creepy at all ), puzzling over how to respond; finally, he settled with a "sup".
Checking his watch, it read 21:55. Kairi was staring at him blankly, clearly waiting for a reply. "Fine, I'm fine", he lied. "I've only just arrived myself; you're early" " How are you?", he slowed down to catch his breath- too much talking... Despite the sky clearing a little, the moon illuminating the night sky, the wind continued to pick up; his face was burning whilst his fringe flapped vigorously around his face. A glance at Kairi showed that she was shivering, clearly the bitter cold had gotten to her. The first idea that came to his mind was to offer Kairi his coat. That was the gentlemanly thing to do right? He removed his coat and extended it casually in the brunette's direction. "Do you want to wear my coat? You look cold." He felt exposed without his 3rd layer on; the unrelenting zephyr biting into his sides.

Kairi gratefully accepted her friend's coat, smiling as she put it on. "Thanks. I didn't think it'd be this cold." As she pulled the coat tighter, the brunette scooted closer to William, thinking he'd be colder without it. "I've been fine; my grades are somehow staying up and I've finally made a few other friends." A sharp breeze suddenly rushed through, pushing the trees and biting at Kairi's exposed skin. Maybe this wasn't the best time to meet. . . "Oh, a new store, er, two stores opening up recently. Maybe you've heard about them? They're owned by twins! Ryou and I thought we were the only ones, but TweedleDee and TweedleDum seemed to have lived here since Wonderland was founded! I think Dee owns a Toy Shop, and a Candy Shop is run by Dum." As Kairi spoke, her cat, Sky, got to his paws and padded over to William, staring up at him briefly before stepping onto his lap. The silver tabby let out a loud mew before walking in circles and nestling into his lap. Kairi noticed this and laughed. "I think he likes you."
After watching her cat for another minute or so, the brunette shifted her gaze to the sky. She watched as the clouds played a lazy game of hide-and-seek with the moon, which was only a sliver of light surrounded by stars. The moon will be completely gone tomorrow, she thought, sighing deeply. Turning back to Will, Kairi decided to resume the conversation. "How has school been going for you? Are you in any clubs?" As she waited for a response, she played with the zipper on her friend's coat, running it along, back and forth, ever so slightly so there would be no noise. Shadows danced behind Will's dark figure, making him look much bigger than he actually was. The trees gave no comfort as they bent with the ever-changing direction of the wind, casting and retracting the shadows that Kairi was gazing at.
