'Just a little more... Come on!' Franchesca thought as she stood on her toes to reach for a book on a much higher shelf than her. She had been searching for a good read and came across the title, so she set out for the school's library to look for the book. She found it, of course, but it was someplace she couldn't reach. She tried looking around for a ladder somewhere, but she couldn't find any. It would have been easier if she could just grab a chair to stand on, but the librarian wouldn't let her. Given her situation, she was hoping for a lick of sympathy from the librarian but got none of it.
Sighing in defeat, Franchesca stood back as she crossed her arms and glared at the book taunting her from above. The title called for her yet it mocked her just the same, sitting on that shelf and out of her reach. She cursed at her luck and then at her height. If she was taller, it would certainly be a breeze reaching for high selves, but it would be harder to move around undetected at night. That, and she liked her height right now. Huffing again, she tried a different strategy. Grabbing the ledge of a shelf, Chesca used that to help her reach higher. It worked, but she still couldn't reach it. She said to herself, "Just a little more..."

'The library ahh such a quiet place again? oh yea I was looking for a book on sword craft.' Neko asked the librarian but she didn't bother to help. So he Neko looked in the shelves one by one until he heard a girl struggling to get a book. The girl had almost grabbed the book but couldn't grab. He could help her maybe she will know about the book is. Neko slipped by and pushed the book into her hands. 'Wait! Am I being mean by doing this she could of gotten it.... DID I MOCK HER?' Neko then turn rapidly and ran the other way. ' If I'm not praised nor scolded not harm done right?' But then one of his swords slipped out of his clothes and on to the floor. While trying to get it Neko tumbled and hit the wall across the shelf. 'OW!'

She was just about to thank him for helping her with her troubles since no one else seemed to want to bother themselves to help her anyway. He quickly ran away though, dropped something, came back to retrieve his fallen sword, tumbled, and hit himself against the wall. All the while the whole thing happened, Chesca's mouth hung agape as she watched and flinched when he finally hit the wall. Running over to help him up quickly, she examined him for any other injuries besides the possibly swollen part where the wall made contact with his skin.
"Here, take my hand! Are you all right?" she asked with worry, clutching the book with one hand and held out her hand to help him up. "I was about to thank you back there when you came to help, but you ran off quickly before I could even get a word in. Then you dropped your sword and this happened. Don't worry. I won't tell anyone about the sword or the possible damage to the library wall. It's the least I could do, okay?"

Neko breathed deeply, got on his knees and heard a voice from a girl looking down at him offering her hand.'Wasn't she the girl from the shelf' Grabbing her hand Neko said "Thanks, my name is Neko"'She seems happy i'm glad she isn't mad but maybe she can help me' he picked up the sword with his swollen arm. 'OW! it still hurts' He tucked his sword back his clothes and then his swollen arm collapsed. "Wait, can you do me one favor and help me find my book it's a training manual"

"You're welcome, Neko. It's nice to meet you. My name is Franchesca and I'd love to help you out just like how you helped me out back there to get a book. Now, training manual? I believe I saw it somewhere a few rows down from this one," she said, going down a few rows and examining the books on the shelves. "Do you have a specific title for that training manual? It would make things a lot easier."
She stepped back from the shelf to look through the titles from way up the shelf down to the very bottom of it. There was various titles for training manuals but Franchesca had no idea which one Neko was looking for. For swords maybe? He was carrying a sword with him. Still, there was a few books for swords if it was what he was looking for.

Neko thought he could trust her so he might as well tell her. "Ok thank you but you know weapons are more illegal than magic in school right?" Neko pointed to his thighs and lifted his shirt a bit to show his swords. "You can help me and be friends but you'll be just playing with fire" Neko grabbed the book 'I hope I didn't offend her I just don' want to bring harm to her' Neko went to the table to read gesturing her to come over.

Though she wasn't as informed about the place as others, she knew that weapons weren't allowed on school grounds. 'Why do you think I said I'd keep quiet about the sword in the first place?' she thought bitterly. Getting informed by a kid like she was an idiot who just moved in? That wasn't going to sit well with her, but he didn't have to know that. Franchesca broke out into a grimace at his next choice of words.
"Playing with fire?" she repeated in an almost mocking tone. 'If only he knew... how much I play with fire even if I don't want to.' Following him over to the table, she chose to sit across from him and place her own book down on the table. She didn't bother cracking open the book; she would much rather wait until he was away to possibly keep her mind from wandering back to what he said and how much he knew. Did this Neko kid know about her and her... relationship with fire? If so, she was a little more interested in the boy than her book. "What an interesting choice of words, Neko."

As Neko read the book he felt a little guilty about be extra cautious "Sorry if I treated you like a kid and also I wanted to ask why you asked about my word choice" Neko thought about his past a little 'she repeat fire a lot I wonder if fire caused her any pain. My family was burnt to death I wouldn't be surprised if fire hurt her'. Neko closed his book retaining the info already but shortly noticed that Franchesca had been staring at him, but why would she be interested in a guy like me that can't be it. "Franchesca are you tired because you look zoned out" Neko said with curious face.

After a few more moments of silence, Franchesca laughed— oh how long had she laughed at what he said! It wasn't because his words were funny or he'd told a great joke; it was more of a mocking laugh, condescending even. Before long, her laughing ceased, and Chesca heaved a sigh, reaching for her book and beginning to read; now, the girl was more interested in the contents of her book than the boy before her. It was foolish to think he'd know something; this boy knows nothing and that's the way it should be—
"I'm not really that offended, and I didn't ask about your choice of words; all I said was that they were an interesting choice." Without so much as looking up, the girl turned to another page and continued to read like she wasn't talking to anyone at all. It was probably a practiced skill to have her attention on one thing, while there was something else she was doing. "I wasn't tired nor zoned out; I was merely thinking of something. Something that proved to be irrelevant right now, something foolish and even improbable now that I think more about it. Now, don't you have to read your manual too? I thought that was what you were here for, but don't worry, I don't mind if you have something else in mind. I'm not really the meddling type, unless it concerns or benefits me."
