After changing into his basketball clothes, Damon made his way to the gymnasium. On his way, he passed a few people he knew, and some even said hi. It was only the second basketball practice, but he already knew he was one of the best players. He hoped he would be able to make at least one friend from basketball. When he entered the gym, a few boys snickered, and he waited a few seconds before he looked down at what he was wearing. Teal basketball shoes, white and silver shorts, going just below his knees, and a NIKE shirt. "Start warming up!!" Their coach yelled. After some stretches, Damon grabbed his basketball and started shooting hoops. He was doing pretty well, when someone ran past him and took his ball.

Oh, crap! I forgot about basketball practice! Thought Kai when he rushed to his locker to get his basketball uniform. He swiped it out very quickly, shut the locker, then sped the changing room in the gym. A few thoughts went through his head while he was putting on his clothes. I didn't think that that girl would freak out that badly though, guess I'm turning into a pro at scaring others. The red-head snickered to himself, then got out to the court to practice with the others. The first thing he saw, though, was a guy wearing silver and white shorts, a NIKE shirt, and teal shoes. Kai started to laugh sort of loud, but hoped that the boy didn't hear him. Then he took another glance at him, the boy took many shots, everyone looking more amazing then the last one.
The red-head decided to have some fun with the guy to test if he truly was a good player and opponent. Kai raced past him, took his basketball, and started to dribble it toward the nearest hoop. He jumped up in the air as if he were flying, then dunked in the ball. After landing back on the ground and receiving the ball that he stole, Kai walked over to the boy and gave him back the basketball. A few of Kai's friends ran over to him in amazement. "Wow! That was so cool! Could you teach us how to do that sometime?" One boy exclaimed. Another boy started to praise him, as if he was a God. "Guys, guys, calm down. That was just a new thing I'm trying out, I still need to perfect it first anyways." As if, I knew how to do that since 7th grade.

Show off Damon thought. Once he got the ball back, he strongly wanted to do a cooler move he had been practicing, but decided against it, because he didn't want to be a show off. Dribbling the ball, he moved to another hoop and started shooting. Again, he was doing good, and made at least 90% of his shots, and he was shooting from the 3-point line. "Gather 'round!" The coach shouted, calling everybody to come to the middle. Like last practice, today they were going to just be doing drills, so the coach would be able to know what positions everybody should be. "Do some stretches, and then line up for lay-ups!" He barked.

At the sound of the coach's voice, Ryou's hand slipped. He had been so focused on his shots that the loud call had frightened him. Unfortunately, the ball had rotated in a way that caused it to hit the rim and strike him in the forehead. The force of the ball's impact planted Ryou on his backside, and he rubbed it pitifully as he stood back up. He knew the others were laughing at him. Wiping away barely visible tears, the brunette walked over to where the other members were gathered around the coach. He gazed around the circle of boys to see if any looked familiar. His eyes soon came to rest on a tall 2nd year with ginger hair. Isn't that the boy Kairi talked about? He wondered, refusing to take his eyes off of him. She said he liked to cosplay and had a secret closet or something in the Courtyard. Ryou had dismissed the odd story his sister had told him, thinking that she'd just fallen asleep and dreamed of it, and never really thought anything of it. Looking at the boy, Kai, now, her story seemed even more far-fetched than before. There's no way someone like him could have a closet of clothing hidden in a tree trunk. . .
After realizing that he's been staring for quite some time, Ryou shifted his gaze back to the coach, who instructed the team to start their stretches and preform lay-ups. Finding an open space, the brunette moved over to it and began stretching. After two minutes or so, he picked up a basketball, which had been sitting idly for someone to pick it up. Feeling his confidence surge, Ryou dribbled his way to the nearest basket and made a successful lay-up. Good, he thought, glad I didn't mess that up. The brunette had been practicing his close-range shots at home with his sister, so it felt good to have shown the others that he'd improved. I only hope I can be the best shooter on the team. It's the only thing I'm really good at.
